Tourism Sciences

Tourism Sciences: The aim of the degree course is to train individuals capable of operating successfully in businesses and organizations active in the tourism industry. In particular, students will have the opportunity to acquire fundamental tools in the economic, legal, managerial, social, and cultural fields, which are essential for tackling the challenges of this continuously evolving sector. Additionally, the course offers comprehensive training that enables participants to communicate effectively in foreign languages, both in written and oral forms, and to use basic IT skills practically and functionally. Therefore, with this multidisciplinary approach, students will be well-prepared to enter the job market and actively contribute to the development of tourism activities.

 

Educational Objectives

The Degree Course in Tourism Sciences: To achieve the educational objectives and ensure the successful placement of our graduates in the job market, the degree course will enable students to accomplish the following learning outcomes:

  • Develop foundational knowledge in economic, business, legal, historical, geographical, anthropological, and social disciplines, particularly those relevant to the tourism sector, and foster an entrepreneurial spirit aimed at promoting the creation of new tourism businesses.
  • Acquire strong written and oral communication skills in two foreign languages, one of which will be English, and demonstrate the ability to present and defend technical arguments in both Italian and/or foreign languages, in written and oral forms.
  • Effectively utilize IT tools while enhancing relational skills and marketing competencies for the organization they work for and/or for their own ventures.

The educational offering in Tourism Sciences aims to provide graduates with the opportunity to:

  • Identify significant cultural and architectural sites, both urban and rural, including thematic itineraries (landscape, archaeological, and historical-artistic), while recognizing cultural emergencies within their field of study.
  • Analyze the main social, geopolitical, and geo-economic aspects of tourism phenomena, as well as understand and synthesize both general and specialized texts.
  • Organize field studies and projects, supporting arguments with data and technological tools, and effectively communicate on general and specialized topics.
  • Utilize IT and technological tools to operate efficiently in the workplace, applying language skills in both formal and informal contexts.
  • Consult bilingual and monolingual dictionaries effectively and apply systemic knowledge to address tourism issues and technological innovations in the cultural market.
  • Reconstruct economic dynamics and identify appropriate marketing strategies, translating economic issues into an analytical-quantitative form using basic economic models.
  • Understand the specifics of hospitality businesses and travel agencies in relation to accounting records, as well as interpret tourism phenomena from both economic and legal perspectives.
  • Finally, apply knowledge to develop platforms and shared services for consumers and users of tourism and cultural services.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To access the Degree Course in Tourism Sciences, it is necessary to possess a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification obtained from recognized foreign institutions. Furthermore, the methods for verifying the required knowledge for admission will be defined in the educational regulations of the course of study, where any additional training obligations will also be indicated in the event of an unsuccessful verification.
